Jennifer Lopez marries dancer/boyfriend Cris Judd

Update 6/9/02: JLO
splits from her husband, Cris Judd.
October
2, 2001 -- Puerto Rican beauty, Jennifer Lopez and dancer
boyfriend Cris Judd swapped vows Saturday evening in a private ceremony in
Calabasas, California, said her publicist, Alan Nierob.
The nuptials come just eight months after Lopez reportedly ditched Bad Boy
Entertainment mogul Sean "P.Diddy" Combs for Judd, an L.A.-based
choreographer and hoofer.
While Lopez might sing "Love Don't Cost a Thing," we're guessing she and
her betrothed didn't skimp when it came to matrimonial money.
The bride was swathed in a custom-made, low-cut Valentino gown. The
wedding and reception took place at an undisclosed private residence in
the rural surburb north of Los Angeles--an upscale community dominated by
ranches and farms, many of which are owned by celebrities.
Attorney Barry Hirsch presided over the ceremony. The couple's longtime
friend and Lopez's manager, Benny Medina, acted as best man and Arlene
Rodriguez, Lopez's best friend since childhood, did maid-of-honor chores.
The ceremony was attended by about 170 family and close friends.
Strangely enough, until the happy pair actually said their "I dos" this
weekend, Lopez's camp had never even confirmed she and Judd were an item--Nierob
had issued a blanket "no comment" to any questions involving Lopez's love
life.
Not that it was ever a big secret. Lopez, 31, and Judd, 32, met during the
"Love Don't Cost a Thing" video shoot while she was still going steady
with Combs. By Valentine's Day,
Puffy, her very public beau of two years, was officially history. Weeks
later, the Oscars became Lopez and Judd's coming-out party and their
whirlwind romance was on.
In June, the New York Post reported Judd popped the question during a
weekend barbecue in Los Angeles. A month later, Lopez performed on NBC's
Today show sporting a diamond ring. But when asked by Matt Lauer if she
was engaged, she responded with a wink, "I guess you'll have to wait and
see."
In August, the couple held an enagagement party in L.A. at the swanky
Melrose Avenue
eatery Morton's.
Aside from collaborating on their wedding plans, the two continue to work
together professionally. Judd recently choreographed two Lopez concerts in
Puerto Rico that will
be turned into an NBC TV special airing during November sweeps.
