Shakira to launch new beauty line aimed at Latinas

February 21, 2008 -- SHAKIRA is set to become the latest celebrity to launch a cosmetics line.

The hip-shaking, multi Grammy-award winner is to team up with Spain-based, Puig to create a new fragrance and beauty products collection.

In a statement, she says, "I'm very excited to be able to express myself through another creative medium.
"My feeling is that personal care and beauty should be effortless and accessible for everyone."

Puig currently works with other celebrities including Antonio Banderas. Banderas has a brand that has been part of the company's portfolio for ten years and now includes a range of six fragrances.

In addition, Venezuelan fashion designer Carolina Herrera's brand is also one of the company's well known ranges along with the Nina Ricci brand.

Meanwhile, the Colombian beauty has continued to do her work for good causes by recently selling some of her personal belongings on eBay for her children's charity Pies Descalzos Foundation, which focuses its efforts on educating underprivileged children in Colombia.
