website, MyLoteria.net
Source: My Loteria Press Release by Christina
Sosa Noriega
November 2007
-- Since its initial release in April, the My Loterķa by
Cristina Sosa Noriega line of products has created an overwhelming buzz. The
product line has only been available, released in stages, at Texas-based
retailer H-E-B Grocery. Not only has the product line developed a large
following of consumers who eagerly await each release of new products, it has
also sparked bidding wars on online auction sites especially from
customers outside of south Texas who have not had easy access to the products.
Until now, that is. Artist and creator Cristina Sosa Noriega, in
conjunction with product manufacturer Sandy USA, Inc., today announced that the
colorful line of tableware and general merchandise, based on her updated
bilingual game of the same name is now available at www.myloteria.net. In
addition to ordering the popular line of products, site visitors can also learn
about the history of the game and products, as well as find information about
Sosa Noriega.
Items available on www.myloteria.net include functional tableware and general
merchandise products such as ceramic platters, stoneware plates and mugs,
grilling accessories aprons, oven mitts, and potholders
and a full table service line of melamine plates, bowls, serving trays and
acrylic glasses. The colorful, vibrant designs and varied selection of products
make the items suitable for casual and festive dining use or outdoor
entertaining.
Sosa Noriega, the daughter of Hispanic marketing pioneer Lionel Sosa and
celebrated San Antonio art teacher Diane Sosa, selected 27 of the original 54
icons found on the traditional Mexican game and replaced them with 27 new,
modern-day icons designed by Noriega, herself. This bilingual contemporary
version of the game features artistic renditions of the familiar icons the
previous generations are accustomed to, along with brand new additions depicted
in Spanish on one side and English on the reverse side of each tablet and card.
Sosa Noriega recreated the Mexican bingo game a well-known symbol of Mexican
heritage for many Mexican Americans as a testament of an acculturated young
Latina who has long searched for ways to connect her two heritages through her
artistic passion.
"I am very thankful for the overwhelmingly positive response to the product line
by customers not only in my home state of Texas, but also by consumers from
around the country," Noriega said. "I am so thrilled to be able to
share with people who live in other parts of the country the My Loterķa game and
product line, as well as the message that we, as Hispanics, should be proud of
the heritage passed on to us."
