"So You Think You Can Dance" Season 2 Casting Call

New host will replace Lauren Sanchez

February 23 2006 -- FOX has announced that they will be a casting call for season 2 of their hit dance show, "So You Think You Can Dance." The new season launches Thursday, May 25th from 8-10pm on FOX.

"So You Think You Can Dance" is traveling the country, beginning March 2nd in New York, on the hunt for the next best undiscovered dancing talent the U.S. has to offer. The dancers will be pitted against each other in a grueling 12-week competition to become America's No. 1 dancer.

This year, there will be one difference from last summer's hit show -- a new host.

Latina host, Lauren Sanchez is pregnant and is expected to give birth during the run of production, therefore, Cat Deeley, one of the leading television hosts in the UK, has been named to host the second season. Deeley has won many awards for her work on "CD: UK Live," and has worked for MTV UK, BBC and ITV networks.

The first season of "Dance" finished Summer 2005 ranked as the No. 1 program in its time period among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens. Season one winner Nick Lazzarini and runner-up Melody Lacayanga are currently part of Mark Meismer's professional dance company, Evolution, which is the first of its kind on the West Coast.

Casting is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are eligible to work in the U.S.; participants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 at the time of the audition.
