Emilio Estefan gets a star on the "Walk of
Fame"

11, 2005 -- They're partners in music and in life, and now singer Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio, have stars next to one another on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Estefan, who has helped propel the careers of Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin and his wife, Gloria Estefan, received the 2,287th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday.
The power couple were on hand Thursday when Emilio Estefan received a star for his achievements in music production.
The Grammy award-winning producer, 52, is credited with creating songs that propelled the careers of his wife, John
Secada, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Shakira and other Latin music stars.
Born in Cuba, Estefan came to the United States in 1968 and founded the music group Miami Latin Boys. He met his future wife at a 1975 event where the group played, and she later accepted his offer to join the group which was renamed the Miami Sound Machine.
The group had a string of hits in the early 1980s, including "Conga" and "Bad Boy."
In recent years, Emilio has turned to producing such television programming as the Latin Grammy Awards, the Hispanic Heritage Awards and "Nuevas Voces de America," a singing competition which recently completed its first season.
The pair's stars are in front of the Hollywood Entertainment Museum - 7021 Hollywood Blvd.
