UPN picks up Jennifer Lopez's show "South Beach"

June 8, 2005 -- Latina actress, singer and now executive producer, Jennifer Lopez has developed a pilot named "South Beach" which was picked up by the UPN network and should air sometime this summer.

The network made this announced during their 2005 upfront presentation and showed a preview of the show.

The 35 year old beauty from New York is the executive producer of the hour-long drama, which will star Vanessa Williams and follow three young adults trying to get ahead in Miami.

Lopez made a brief appearance during the presentation announcing the cast to the audience.

The show's planned as a mid-season replacement and has no airdate yet.
