Nationwide Insurance announces Hispanic Heritage
Poster Contest
July 13, 2004 -- Today, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 26 million people in the country are of Hispanic origin -- about 10 percent of the U.S. population. Hispanic Heritage Month, observed from September 15 thru October 15 in many states, celebrates the colorful mix of cultures and rich traditions of Hispanics.
Nationwide Insurance sponsors a Hispanic Heritage Month poster contest titled, "We are one but made up of many." In 2003, our winners were: Alicia Gonzalez, first place, Pablo Santiago, second place, and Kristen Nicole Ramos, third place.
This year's first-place winner will receive $700, second place $400, and third place $300.
Nationwide encourages involvement in Hispanic Heritage Month and understands the ethnic diversity of Hispanic Americans, and learning about the cultures from which they come through art.
