Christina Aguilera cancels North American tour

Written by Hispanicsurf.com

May 4, 2004 -- For those over on the East Coast, waiting to catch a glimpse of pop diva Christina in concert -- forget about it!

The petite, but sexy Aguilera was forced to cancel her North American tour due to strained vocal chords.

Doctors advised Aguilera to immediately rest and give her voice time to fully recover. The 28-city tour with special guest Chingy was scheduled to kick-off May 13 in Seattle, WA.

“I am extremely disappointed to have to cancel this tour. I was looking forward to being on the road again and spending time with my fans,” stated Aguilera.

Her publicist, Meghan Prophet, said Aguilera hurt her voice while in the studio. Doctors told Aguilera to immediately rest and give her voice time to fully recover.

Last summer X-Tina was part of one of the biggest tours of the summer along with Justin Timberlake.

Refunds can be made at point of purchase.

In some more positive Christina news, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli has expressed his interest in collaborating with pop stars including the Dirrty diva. At a press conference in the Philippines, Bocelli said that if she asked him to do a duet with her, he would be very happy. He also named Whitney Houston and Norah Jones as other divas he would like to collaborate with.
