Jennifer Lopez sued by ex-husband
December
23, 2004 -- Puerto Rican beauty, Jennifer Lopez is being
sued by her first husband for alleged breach of contract.
Ojani Noa claims he was wrongly fired as the manager of her restaurant in Pasadena.
The couple married in 1997 after meeting at a restaurant he was working at in Miami. They divorced a year later.
In the lawsuit, Noa claims he quit his job managing LA's Conga Room two years ago to take a
job running J.Lo's new restaurant, Madres.
He claims to have been told by her he would never be let go "without good cause or reason".
He was fired six months later, in October 2002, the lawsuit stated.
"Mr Noa tried to call Ms Lopez to find out what prompted this sudden change of events," his lawyers wrote. "His calls went unreturned.".
Noa is seeking unspecified damages.
Jennifer went on to marry dancer Cris Judd but separated from him months later.
She married Latin singer Marc Anthony this year - her third marriage and his second.
